Permission Disclosures

Effective date: May 30, 2026

Accessibility Permission

Owl Gig Radar uses Android Accessibility only when the user enables monitoring. Accessibility may allow the app to observe visible screen text and UI elements, detect gig cards and buttons shown on screen, perform optional user-enabled taps or gestures, and help return to the map after a card is inspected.

Accessibility is sensitive because it may allow an app to see information displayed on the screen. Users should only enable this permission if they understand and trust Owl Gig Radar.

Overlay Permission

Owl Gig Radar uses the Android “display over other apps” permission to show monitor controls while the user uses other apps. The overlay may appear above Roadie or other apps and is used for Start/Stop, status, and quick controls.

The overlay must remain clearly branded as Owl Gig Radar. It must not imitate Roadie UI, hide Android permission dialogs, or mislead users into thinking it is part of Roadie.

Notifications Permission

Owl Gig Radar uses notifications for monitor status, foreground service status, alerts, and important app messages. On newer Android versions, users may need to grant notification permission. If notifications are disabled, some alerts may not appear.

Safety Reminder

Do not interact with Owl Gig Radar while driving. Pull over safely before changing settings, granting permissions, reviewing gigs, or enabling AutoSubmit.
